Another Advocate for Murray Family Confesses to Trolling, Reveals Alarming Inside Details

In April, a man who goes by the name “Fulk” online confessed to creating a hoax tip about the Maura Murray case with the help of Erinn Larkin, a podcaster and longtime advocate for the Murray family. This week, the admin of the official Maura Murray Facebook page, a page with over 20,000 followers, admitted to running other pages that were used to harass and defame journalists and others. Here’s his official statement:

I, Troy ****, am an administrator for the Maura Murray Official Missing Group on Facebook. I also created the Facebook Page “Maura Murray Official Free Press” (“The Free Press Page”) where I anonymously published disparaging and offensive statements about James Renner that were not true and had no basis in fact. I published the statements for the purpose of harassing Mr. Renner because I was provided false information about Mr. Renner and his investigation of and reporting on the Maura Murray case, which made me have a negative impression of Mr. Renner. I now know the information I was provided about Mr. Renner was not true and I regret creating The Free Press Page and posting the false and disparaging statements about Mr. Renner.

He also was an admin for a different Facebook page created by Scott Wahl, which is also being used to target and harass others. Wahl was the target of an FBI child porn raid a few years ago. Virginia police are currently searching for a woman who once taught Wahl’s daughter, following a report that he told a friend that he had placed a tracking device on her car. Following his confession, Troy has provided an insider’s look into how the inner-circle of Maura Murray trolls operate, and it’s chilling. According to Facebook chats, Erinn Larkin, Scott Wahl, and others routinely scour social media platforms to build files on anyone who disagrees with their narrative about the missing persons’ case. In one case, they use the background of a photo on a man’s twitter account to track down his business and real name, simply because he said something supportive of me.

Additionally, Larkin admits to using fake names to monitor accounts of people who have blocked her for stalking behavior. At one point, they speak clearly about their intentions when it comes to me: “We need to neutralize that asshole.”

In public, Larkin plays the part of naive advocate quite well, but in private she often disparages others who are trying to help the Murray family. Case in point, Dr. Jules, of the Riddle Me That podcast, who they also consider sending demands to, but stop when they discover she’s in Malaysia and outside lawsuit range. “Fuck her,” Erinn writes.

Also of note here is are details of questions for new interviews with Fred Murray and Kate Markopoulos, though it’s unclear if those interviews ever happened.
